School of Medicine and Public Health (SMPH) Policy
Rationale/Purpose:
To establish that all health professions program students must meet the requirements of their program to advance and graduate from the School of Medicine and Public Health (SMPH).
Definitions:
Health professions program
Any of the SMPH Doctor of Medicine, Doctor of Physical Therapy, Master of Genetic Counselor Studies, Master of Physician Assistant Studies, and Master of Public Health programs.
Policy:
The written academic and professional requirements of a particular health professions program apply uniformly to all students enrolled in that program.
The requirements of a health professions program comprise that health professions program’s single set of standards that must be met to graduate.
Health professions program students must:
Meet the requirements of the program(s) under which they matriculated to advance in the program(s) and graduate.
Maintain compliance with standards of professional conduct as established by their program(s).
Information on degree requirements will be included in each health professions program’s student handbook.
