The food pantry is to be managed by the Associated Students of Madison (ASM)-appointed food pantry employees and the space is governed by the Student Activity Center Governing Board (SACGB).
The SACGB reserves the right to reallocate the food pantry space if it is determined that the space is not being used adequately and according to the following requirements.
If changes want to be made to the food pantry space, all changes need to be approved by the SACGB. The changes should be paid for with the ASM budget.
Responsibilities
The food pantry employees, Student Activity Center (SAC) front desk staff, and ASM staff will have access to the food pantry space.
The food pantry employees will provide the front desk staff information about their hours, events, and frequently asked questions.
The food pantry employees, not SAC front desk staff, will be responsible for determining that those who access the food pantry are university students.
The food pantry employees will have the food pantry open to students for a determined amount of hours a week while the SAC is open.
The food pantry employees will manage the advertising and marketing of the food pantry.
The food pantry employees will manage the intake of food donations and supplies and keep said items organized in the Food Pantry Space.
The food pantry employees will maintain the general cleanliness of the food pantry space after each use.
Cleaning
The food pantry employees will maintain general cleanliness of the food pantry space by cleaning and completing the following after each use:
Wiping off counters
Sweeping floor
Organizing food pantry donations and supplies
The SAC front desk staff will remove garbage from the food pantry space.
Perishable items are not allowed in the food pantry. If perishable items wish to be included, permission must be granted through the SACGB.
Events
The food pantry employees are responsible for the actions of volunteers in the food pantry.
Registered Student Organizations (RSOs) may collaborate with the food pantry employees for events.
The food pantry employees must be present for all events that occur in the food pantry.
The food pantry employees may not hold events or open hours while the SAC is closed.
Off and After Hours
The food pantry team members are eligible for off-hours access with ASM and will follow all SAC off-hours policies.
The food pantry team members will not have open hours while the SAC is closed.
The food pantry team members will post in advance where they will hold open hours when the SAC is closed.
