UW–Madison operates 24 hours per, seven days per week and must be staffed at all times. Some staff may be required to work schedules that are outside normal business hours. This policy establishes standards for additional pay for employees who are on duty outside of standard office hours or the standard work week as described in UW-5049 Standard Office Hours.

Provisions in this section apply to academic staff holding a nonexempt job title and university staff holding a nonexempt job title.
Eligible employees who work on legal holidays will receive compensatory time off or payment at the premium rate (employee's regular rate multiplied by 1.5) at the discretion of the department/unit.
