Rationale/​Purpose:

Night parking permits grant parking access in specific lots on campus. This policy defines the proper use of night permits

Scope:

Faculty, staff, students, visitors, and employees of affiliated agencies (including the UW Foundation, UW Health Medical Foundation, UW Shared Services, UW System, State Historical Society, and various outside groups).

Policy:
  1. Night garage specific permits are only valid in one specific garage as noted on the permit from 4:30 p.m. until 7:30 a.m. weekdays and all-day Saturday and Sunday. Available garages include 6, 7, 17, 20, 23, 27, 29, 36, 38, 46, 67, 75, 76, 80, 83, and 95.
    1. Lot 75 night permits are valid from 4:30 p.m. to 8:00 a.m. weekdays and all day Saturday and Sunday.
  2. Night surface lot permits are valid in any of the following controlled surface lots: lots 5, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 16, 18, 21, 30, 33, 44, 51, 78, 81, 85, 91, and 92 from 4:30 p.m. until 7:30 a.m. weekdays and all-day Saturday and Sunday.
  3. Night permits may not be transferred or sold.
  4. Night permits must be displayed properly, and correct license plate numbers must be on file with UW-Madison Transportation Services.
  5. Restrictions
    1. Permit holders may not purchase a night permit for the same lot in which they already hold a base lot permit or Flex permit.
    2. Night permits are not valid in lots other than those designated in this policy, unless UW-Madison Transportation Services grants temporary clearance.
    3. Night garage-specific permits are not valid from 7:30 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. weekdays. Lot 75 night garage permits are not valid from 8:00 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. weekdays.
    4. Night surface lot permits are not valid from 7:30 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. weekdays.
