Rationale/​Purpose:

Lot 76 Quick Passes provide parking access to Lot 76 (University Bay Drive Ramp) on the UW-Madison campus. This policy defines the rules and restrictions governing Lot 76 Quick Passes.

Definitions:
Parking session
The length of time between a valid parking facility entry and a valid parking facility exit recorded by the parking lot gate system.
Scope:

All University of Wisconsin-Madison faculty, staff, visitors, and employees of affiliated agencies.

Policy:
  1. Lot 76 Quick Passes are valid in Lot 76 during hours of enforcement. When the ramp is not enforced (free) or when Lot 76 is closed for a Special Event, the Lot 76 Quick Pass will be disabled. During a Special Event, Lot 76 Quick Pass holders are required to pay the Special Event rate if they would like to park.
  2. A flat daily rate is deducted from the Lot 76 Quick Pass when the pass is scanned to enter Lot 76.
  3. Exiting and re-entering Lot 76 more than one time between 12:00 a.m. – 11:59 p.m. on the same day will not start new parking sessions or cause additional fees to be deducted from the Lot 76 Quick Pass.
  4. Except in cases of gate system malfunctions, if the gate system does not record a valid exit at or before 11:59 p.m. on the same day the pass is used to enter Lot 76, the customer will be charged an additional flat daily rate.
  5. Pass holders are responsible for using the Lot 76 Quick pass to enter and exit Lot 76. UW-Madison Transportation Services collects information from the gate system and staff are not authorized to raise the gate for customers unless the gate system is malfunctioning.
  6. Customers who purchase a Lot 76 Quick Pass must keep a correct license plate number on file with UW-Madison Transportation Services.
  7. Restrictions
    1. Lot 76 Quick Passes are not valid for parking in any other campus parking lot.
    2. Lot 76 Quick Passes may not be transferred or sold.
    3. Value added to or deducted from a Lot 76 Quick Pass is non-refundable.
    4. UW-Madison Transportation Services has the right to reserve lots/ramps for event parking on campus. Parking may be sold in advance or at the lot entrance on a first-come basis. Permit holders may be relocated. Lots restricted for an event will be posted at lot entrances and/or lot restrictions will be emailed to permit holders who will be affected by an event whenever possible.
    5. Lot 76 Quick Passes are not valid during special events.
    6. If a pass holder enters Lot 76 and is unable to find an available parking spot, they may exit the lot and obtain a daily parking pass from UW-Madison Transportation Services for parking access in a nearby lot at no additional cost. The cost for the daily parking pass will have already been deducted from the Lot 76 Quick Pass.
